• 1 1/2 pounds ground pork
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 3/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

In large bowl, blend together all ingredients well. Form into a 7x4 1/2x2-inch loaf; place in cooker. Cover and cook on High for 4 hours or on Low for 8-10 hours, until a meat thermometer inserted reads 160 degrees F. Carefully remove pork loaf from cooker (see following tip); let cool 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

Serves 6.

Tip: To ease removal of the pork loaf from the slow cooker, fold two 24-inch-long pieces of aluminum foil in half lengthwise, then in half lengthwise again. Place strips across each other, forming a cross in the bottom of a 3 1/2 or 4-quart slow cooker. Press strips against the inside of the slow cooker, letting ends hang over the outside.

A family favorite—meat loaf—cooks all day and provides leftovers for sandwiches tomorrow. Serve with buttered broccoli spears and mashed potatoes.
